About Mrs. Esterline
My name is Kami Esterline and the 2018-2019 school year will mark my 20th year as a classroom teacher, and my 11th year teaching at Holly Springs Elementary. Before moving to North Carolina, I spent 1 year teaching 5th grade Juvenile detention, 2 years teaching 1st grade at Our Lady's Christian School in Erie, Pa, 1 year teaching 5th and 6th grades and 2 years teaching 2nd grade at Somerset Christian School (Somerset, Pa). I also spent 1 year at Holly Ridge teaching 2nd grade.
I attended Gannon University (Erie, Pa) and earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (1997), and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007. I also earned my National Board Certification in 2011. I was the 2012 Holly Springs Elementary Teacher of the Year. I was also honored to be chosen as a Wake County Teacher of the Year Semi-Finalist (2012). I also teach "future teachers" at NC State during my evenings. In 2015, I met a career goal and became a certified Reading Specialist. This year, I became a Google Certified Educator.
When I am not at work, I love spending time with my husband Paul, and my 2 beautiful daughters, Abbie 18 and Ellie 16. Abbie will be a senior and Ellie will be a sophomore at Fuquay Varina High School.
In my extra time I enjoy cake decorating, scrapbooking, reading, and watching my daughters play volleyball, golf, and lacrosse.
